injury update feb 2007
February 3, 2007
i’ve received a letter from my solicitor enclosing the report from the independent orthopaedic consultant. actually makes for grim reading, bringing back a lot of memories about the injuries i sustained. can’t say much more than that yet, but there’s a chance that i may have to wait until the first anniversary of the accident before there’s a chance of some compensation, which is disappointing.

one step forward , two steps back
October 6, 2006
the 1st november return to work is still only a ’suggested’ return date, i am signed off until 31st october but with the way things have gone this week i don’t know if a 1st nov return is certain anymore. with the removal of the brace i may have unfortunately taken one step forward but two steps back. i’ve been in a lot of pain and discomfort this week as i try and rebuild strength in my back. i’m back on more painkillers and anti-inflamms and lying flat and motionless so i reserve the right to change that return date if i’m not 100%.
injury update for october
October 3, 2006
i have visited the consultant orthopaedic surgeon this morning and had further x-rays. all is well, bones are well healed and strengthening. however there is some degree of permanent spinal curvature. the abdominal sternum brace has been removed and i’m adjusting to re-found freedoms. there will be a period of adjustment and familiarity, hence i’ve been signed off work until 31st october, after which i will return to work on a temporary basis (probably 2 or 3 days per week for a month or so). thanks to all for kind words and get well messages.
i’ve been asked about physiotherapy. none has been arranged or provided for me as i’ve been told to try and do light exercise such as swimming to get flexibility back.
my solicitor has arranged for the independent medical people (micrah) to begin proceedings. i await contact from them.
